Seeing that almost all the posts on the forum were about CS or ML interviews, I had originally planned to look for interview experiences related to optical design before my own interview, but I came up empty-handed. Although I feel like I messed up this interview, I still want to share my experience briefly, in case there are other optics enthusiasts like me. Meta interviews consisted of two parts. The first interviewer was Chinese-speaking and very nice. He started by asking me to introduce my research and asked if I could use one or two slides to explain it. I was terrified because in previous interviews, the recruiter would always mention presentation requirements in advance via email.
