I noticed there were very few interview experiences for hardware positions on this forum, but now that I've received an offer, I'd like to share mine. My first interview was last October, and the last was on December 21st – five rounds of phone interviews in two months. The Product Design interview was very interesting; you can treat it as a brain teaser. Apple PD interns don't have onsite interviews; it's all by phone. Full-time onsite interviews are more difficult; it seems you also need to do a prototype and presentation. Regarding campus recruitment: the team from my school recruiting ME always has a Mac PD...macProduct design. In my experience, Apple hardware managers only look at GPA when reviewing resumes, and I managed to maintain a good GPA by leveraging connections. I handed him my resume and he started talking, but the manager took an iPhone and started timing me. After 15 seconds, he decided I'd be on campus the next day. So, GPA is really important on Boss Zhipin. I saw someone with exceptional practical skills and a very good resume, but he was still rejected. Of course, other teams or individuals will have different selection criteria. A little anecdote: the manager told me "Let's talk," then handed me an Apple card. Being completely inexperienced, I thought he was just dismissing me and left dejectedly.
